Alessandro Pessoli: NY Window: Anton Kern Gallery WINDOW

Anton Kern Gallery is pleased to announce NY Window, an exhibition by Alessandro Pessoli at WINDOW, opening Wednesday, September 9, 2026. This marks Pessoli’s first exhibition at WINDOW and his ninth solo exhibition with the gallery.

NY Window will consist of 57 new works on paper in an installation that extends from floor to ceiling and wraps around the interior of the window. Pessoli’s drawings form a series of non-linear narratives, with each presenting a vignette drawn from Americana, religious iconography, popular culture, politics, and everyday life. In each scene, figures and animals are caught between struggle and euphoria, taking part in fantasies, acts of violence, and moments of boredom, while confronting various temptations, conflicts, and their inevitable consequences. Together, NY Window forms a fractured and continuous reflection of the psychological and material contradictions, absurdities, pitfalls and ordinary circumstances of daily life.
