Each Opium Bed is custom-made in Denmark by Tal R and his team: Allan Lyth, Jens Stampe Brøndbjerg and Karen Bjelke. The sofa-sculptures are made from new, old and vintage rag rugs found in Denmark and in the rest of Scandinavia. Each rag rug has been elaborated in the studio. Some have been dyed, others have been painted, and some remain un- touched. Independent of the form, all sofas have a unique finger joint constructed wooden frame and are covered with foam and padded with rag rugs. At last the rag rugs are attached with cotton string to the wooden construction.
Each sofa-sculpture has a name, a number, and is signed by Tal R.
