Art Basel Miami Beach 2021: Booth H08

We are delighted to return to Art Basel Miami Beach, November 30 – December 4, 2021, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. This year at Booth H08 we are presenting new paintings, drawings, sculpture, video, photography, and collage from our international roster of artists: Brian Calvin, Ellen Berkenblit, John Bock, Brian Calvin, Anne Collier, Nicole Eisenman, Frank Diaz Escalet, Martino Gamper, Ellen Gronemeyer, Bendix Harms, Marcus Jahmal, Sarah Jones, Hein Koh, Jim Lambie, Marepe, Chris Martin, Aliza Nisenbaum, Alessandro Pessoli, Tal R, Wilhelm Sasnal, Lara Schnitger, David Shrigley, Mike Silva, Francis Upritchard, and Yuli Yamagata

In the Kabinett sector, Anton Kern Gallery and Andrew Kreps Gallery are thrilled to jointly debut the works of Frank Diaz Escalet. Drawing on the two galleries' long history of collaboration, the presentation serves to provide an expansive view of Escalet’s practice, which remains largely unexhibited. A mostly self-taught artist with a long and storied life, Escalet is known for his paintings and inlaid leather compositions: vibrant, autobiographical works that are deeply personal, whether depicting scenes of the immigrant experience and his attempts to escape the Spanish Harlem ghetto of his youth; or engaging with modernist abstraction and colorful still lifes and landscapes. Anton Kern Gallery devotes their Kabinett presentations to the latter, which demonstrate Escalet’s visceral understanding of color and material, and a hunger to share his intuitive artistic vision with the world.
